Earth’s most amazing volcanoes
Volcano is a rupture on the crust, which allows hot lava, volcanic ashes, and gases to escape from a magma chamber below the surface.
As much as it could sound disgusting dangerous and unpleasant, there are volcanoes that are actually really beautiful to look at, and even more beautiful to hike.
Volcanoes can be under and above water, and the ones above water look just like mountains.
Back in the days, when the Earth was forming, there were millions and millions of ruptures of the crust from which lava would erupt occasionally; nowadays, on the other hand, there are “only few” of active “above-water” volcanoes, as the majority are underwater where the crust is lighter and easier to break.
Anyway, there are still inactive volcanoes on the Earth, such as the Kilimanjaro Mountain in Tanzania – yes, did you know that it used to be a volcano?! – Or even Lake Como in Italy; and they are so old, and haven’t been active in such a long time, that they don’t even look like volcanoes anymore!
Would you have ever imagined that Lake Como used to be a volcano? I wouldn’t have!
Among the active volcanoes, are some of the world’s most famous mountains, like for example Mount Etna, in Sicily; Cyclades in Santorini, Greece; Mauna Loa, Hawaii, USA, and many others.
So what The Golden Scope thought of doing, was listing all the most beautiful volcanoes for you to have a look at. Why? So that when you are travelling to foreign countries, or even in your own state, you can go have a look at this mountains knowing that once upon a time they used to be dangerous and aggressive craters.
