Tanaka Tatsuya, Japanese artist, is another talented miniature sculptor that makes incredible and fascinating artworks.
He became so famous and popular thanks to his “Miniature Caldendar”. Tanaka explains that this is no other than
A standard daily calendar. The photos are updated daily on my website and SNS page, earning it the name of MINIATURE CALENDAR.
Indeed, the Japanese artist makes miniature sculptures, which he then captures and posts the photos of online.
He has been updating his “Miniature Calendar” for four years, and people keep on following his wonderful artworks, commenting and supporting him day after day.
Tanaka says that:
Broccoli and parsley might sometimes look like a forest, or the tree leaves floating on the surface of the water might sometimes look like little boats. Everyday occurrences seen from a pygmy’s perspective can bring us lots of fun thoughts.
He also clarifies that:
I wanted to take this way of thinking and express it through photographs, so I started to put together a “MINIATURE CALENDAR”. These photographs primarily depict diorama-style figures surrounded by everyday items.
Tanaka Tatsuya’s miniature sculptures are incredibly realistic and they are also funny. They represent everyday actions, things and routines in an alternative way: from someone taking a shower under a toothbrush, to people snowboarding down a toilet paper roll.
Anyway the best way to understand and enjoy Tanaka’s art is by admiring his photographs, so here they are!
