According to Wikipedia: “A door is a moving structure used to block off, and allow access to, an entrance to or within an enclosed space, such as a building.”
According to The Golden Scope a door is much more than that. A door represents and reflects what’s behind it.
For example if a door is high-tech and modern looking, than whatever is hidden behind it, is also high-tech and modern looking.
If a door is ruined and old, most probably what’s behind is also falling apart.
If a door is magnificent and ancient, also the room or the house that door allows access to will probably be magnificent and ancient too.
I could actually go on for hours talking about how doors are a reflection of what’s behind them, but I’d rather cut it short and use Paolo Coelho’s quote to give you a better idea of what I mean.
“The eyes are the mirror of the soul and reflect everything that seems to be hidden”, just like doors, which are the mirrors of what is hidden behind them.
Now that I explained what a door is, I can proceed explaining what this article is about.
Somewhere in the world, some people decorated their entrance doors with unique drawing and beautiful colours, in order to give a better image of their homes.
Barely anyone would paint their gates and doors with crazy patters; indeed, the usual “look” for an entrance is plain, mono-colour, and – honestly speaking – quite boring.
Since The Golden Scope focuses mainly on anything that is out of the ordinary, we decided to write about these wonderful unconventional doors selecting some shots capturing the beauty and fascination of these doors.
Who knows…you might get inspired and want decorate your own door with unique motifs too!
