Rewind: Rafael Mantesso’s sketches
As you all might know, Wednesday is our “art day”. Indeed, every Wednesday of the week we publish an article on something peculiarly creative.
Last week we featured Guido Daniele’s exclusive interview, so today we decided to concentrate on an equally interesting artist, whose muse is a cute bull terrier named Jimmy Choo.
Today, Brazilian illustrator Rafael Mantesso steps into The Golden Scope’s spotlight as he’s been capturing the world’s attention with his incredibly strange artworks.
Mantesso has been using his dog, Jimmy Choo, to make creative drawings. First he draws on a white background, and then he “commands” Jimmy Choo to stay still, or lie down, next to the sketches. The results are rather funny and incredibly creative artworks!
Apparently Mantesso came up with the idea of making such unique drawings when he found himself alone in his flat after his ex-wife moved out taking all the furniture with her.
After the Brazilian illustrator was left with an empty house and Jimmy Choo as his only companion, he decided to see the bright side of the situation and began to make sketches using his dog as model.
Thanks to this random idea, Rafael Mantesso and Jimmy Choo have been all over the web for the past couple of months.
