Christmas markets are not necessary places where to buy Christmas presents, but most people go there to be immersed in the fairy tail-like atmosphere. Those markets located in northern countries are even more magical as they are usually covered in snow!

CHRISTKINDLESMARKT, NUREMBERG, GERMANY

The market opens the Friday before the first Sunday of advent. It features more than 180 wooden stands selling handcrafted Christmas ornaments, toys, games, and holiday gourmet treats.

CHRISTKINDLESMARIK, STRASBOURG, FRANCE

Christkindlesmarik is France’s oldest and best Christmas market. It is composed by twelve markets that are organized by product. Traditional local food treats—such as bretzels, pain d’épices, and hot spiced wine—cannot be missed!

FIRA DE SANTA LUCIA, BARCELONA, SPAIN

This beautiful Spanish market includes more than 280 stands selling artisanal Christmas wares and decorations. Fire de Santa Lucia is open from November 30 to December 23.

TORONTO CHRISTMAS MARKET, TORONTO, CANADA

This Christmas market is quite popular in Canada as it features wonderful festive lighting, musical performances from carolers and Bavarian brass bands, and numerous stalls where to buy food and Christmas themed gadgets.
