Unconventional Luxury Hotels
If you love travelling to unconventional places, then you would surely want to read this article and take a look at the following photos.
Today’s feature doesn’t focus on holiday destinations so much, but it rather concentrates on strange and peculiar hotels.
When staying in any of the places describe below, not only you will experience the height of luxury, but you will also have a chance to see something different than what you see everyday. This means that those accommodations are nothing like the “hotels as we know them”.
The rooms are different, the restaurants are different, the pool is also different. I could actually explain how and why all those features are different to the ones in a normal hotel, but I thought it would maybe easier for you to take a look and see for yourself.
All the five accommodations featured in this piece are unique and fascinating, each one of them in its own way.
Ladera Resort, Saint Lucia
Located in Saint Lucia, an island in the eastern Caribbean Sea on the boundary with the Atlantic Ocean, Ladera Resort is incredibly stunning. Each room features a private swimming pool overlooking the ocean. What is so “unique” about this place? Well, Ladera is actually the only resort in St. Lucia located on the Pitons, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This 170 year-old hotel is tucked away into the side of a mountain in the Swiss Alps. Due to its position, clinging to the foot of a vertical cliff face, Aescher is only accessible by cable car and/or hiking. When there it is possible to relax and enjoy the stunning Swiss landscapes, while breathing fresh and genuine mountain air.
The Manta Resort is situated on Pemba Island, and it is probably as far away from civilisation as you’ll ever get. Reachable by boat from Zanzibar, this hotel has been attracting the world’s attention as among its beautiful accommodation there is one located right in the middle of the ocean. The so-called “Underwater Room” is a private floating island with your bedroom four meters below the surface.
Homestead Resort, Utah
Nestled in the beautiful mountains of Utah, this resort presents a collection of old cottages and ranch houses clustered around the main building. Perfect for couple retreats and family holidays, Homestead is completely immersed in nature. A fascinating characteristic of this resort is the swimming pool, which is hidden away in a cave.
This boutique hotel, which presents only 11 suites, is built in Akrotiri’s Caldera, one of the island’s most beautiful areas, opposite to the endless Aegean blue. Besides the stunning rooms, which offer luxurious facilities, Astarte peculiarity is in its position: it overlooks the sea and when swimming in the infinity pool, it is actually difficult to differentiate the end of the pool to the sea horizon.
