This island nation is a member of the British Commonwealth, it’s not included in the tourist route of the tour operators and this fact is confirmed by its main economic activity: agriculture, in particular the cultivation of bananas.

Isolation of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines originates from the warlike character of the people who lived in past centuries the islands. Europeans began to settle there only since the eighteenth century, they created some different plantations in which for a long time slaves from Africa worked.

Finally in 1834, slavery was abolished, these beautiful islands remained as a colony under British rule until, after several intermediate political steps, they gained the absolute independence, on 27th October 1979.

The main island Saint Vincent, in Carib language called Airouna, is home to the capital Kingstown, a little town with over 25.000 inhabitants. It’s also the main port of the country and, therefore, a strategic point for both the tourists and the local agricultural activities.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, a Caribbean paradise where, just to make you some examples, you can enjoy water sports such as windsurfing and kite surfing in addition to scuba diving with amazing multicolored fish. Explore the interior of the larger islands means to enter in the rainforests  with beautiful waterfalls such as the Dark View Falls. Trekking means to climb the mountains that dominate the Caribbean Sea … right there …where the sun…at sunset… plunges creating fantastic colors!
