Although I am not a professional photographer, neither I am a talented one, when I went to Fuerteventura—I think—I managed to take some good shots, mainly thanks to the beauty of the sceneries.

Fuerteventura presents different kinds of landscape in a total of 1,660 square kilometers. What I mean by that is that if driving through the whole island you will be able to see the scenery changing from rocky beaches, to sandy dunes falling into the ocean, to green mountains that recall the Hawaiian volcanic panoramas.

It is not a surprise that in 2009 Fuerteventura was declared a biosphere reserve by UNESCO.

When I went there it was actually winter, but despite the season, the weather was mild and the water was not too cold. I could swim, surf and tan as if it was mid-August!

The beauty of this Canary Island is given by its sticking landscapes, as well as by the peaceful and quite atmosphere that characterises the place.

Locals seem not to stress about anything, and they always have a warm smile on their faces. It’s like as if they lived in a different planet, a planet with no problems!

Anyway a part from the warm hospitality, Fuerteventura has some really beautiful beaches too.

If you head east you can find white sandy beaches, perfect for tanning and relaxing; whereas if you go on the west side of the island, you will find that the coast is rocky and that the ocean is wavy and more aggressive than on the east side. The west cost is, indeed, the place-to-be for surfers!
